sweep the Phillies. Philadelphia continues to struggle as they lost 11 out of their last 15 games falling 2.5 games back to Atlanta in the NL East division. Phillies bats have been surprisingly quiet having scored 3 runs or less in their last 11 games and being shutout 5 times.

Diamondbacks @ Dodgers 0 - 1
The Dodgers swept the D-backs with three consecutive walkoffs and two consecutive extra-inning victories (both 1-0). Garret Anderson was the latest hero with an RBI single in the bottom of the 14th. Dodgers bullpen tossed 9 scoreless innings behind starter Carlos Monasterios and Schlichting earned the win pitching 4 scoreless. D'backs has lost 10 in a row while Dodgers have won 4 straight.

Mets @ Padres 1 - 5
Huge win in extra-inning for the Padres on Adrian Gonzalez's walk-off grand slam in the 11th. Francisco Rodriguez blew his third save when David Eckstein hit an RBI single in the ninth. Santana was once again superb, tossing 7 shutout innings allowing 5 hits and 5 walks. Clayton Richard matched the veteran southpaw pitching 6 innings of one-run ball. With the win San Diego stays on top of the NL West by a full game.

Brewers @ Marlins 7 - 4
Late innings offense allows Milwaukee to take game 3 of this 4 game series in Miami. Yovani Gallardo hitting a tying homer to complement seven strong frames. Carlos Gomez put the Crew ahead, George Kottaras and Prince Fielder homered. Volstad after 5 and 2/3 solid innings left the ballgame with the lead but Marlins bullpen couldn't hold on to it. Cantu had 2 RBI to reach 42 on the young season.

Nationals @ Astros 1 - 5
Wandy Rodriguez, who escaped two bases-loaded jams, had a season-high eight strikeouts in five innings and Carlos Lee homered to lead the Astros past the Nats. With 3 errors Washington defense didn't help veteran starter Lannan who gave up 5 runs but only 2 of them were earned. Adam Dunn plated Washington's lone run.

Reds @ Cardinals 1 - 4
Cardinals take the rubber game of a three-game set. Chris Carpenter allowed only one run on four hits in eight innings to improve to 7-1 and pull the Cards back into a first-place tie with the Reds. Holliday homered in the seventh to make it 4-1. Reds starter LeCure left the game after 5 and 1/3 giving up 3 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks.

Rockies @ Giants 1 - 4
The Giants take a very important series finale victory over Colorado to avoid the sweep. Matt Cain allowed just Troy Tulowitzki's homer among four hits over eight innings. Aaron Rowand's two-run double provided enough offense for San Francisco. Jeff Francis wasn't sharp, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits in 5 and 2/3 innings.
