Missed call ends Gallaraga's perfect bid

Orioles @ Yankees 1 - 9
Hughes strong effort gives Yankees their 4th straight victory. The right-hander pitched 7 innings allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits striking out 7. Cano belted his 12th homer of the year and Nick Swisher had 3 RBI. Orioles starter Bergesen had to leave the game after 2 and 1/3 as he was
hit hard giving up 6 earned runs on 7 hits. Orioles has now lost 7 in a row.

Indians @ Tigers 0 - 3
It looked like the third perfect game of the seasons and 21st in MLB history was going to be thrown, but Jason Donald got an infield hit with two outs in the 9th to break up Armando Galarraga's bid for perfect game. Tigers right-hander tossed a one hit complete game shutout to earn his second win of the season. Carmona pitched well, going the distance allowing just 2 earned runs on 9 hits and walked none. Cabrera hit his 15th home run and leads the majors with 49 RBI.

Rays @ Blue Jays 7 - 3
Another tough loss for the Blue Jays as they were leading 2-1 in the top of the ninth. Marcum tossed 8 innings of one-run ball before being hit hard in the ninth. Crawford grand slam of reliever Scott Downs opened up a big gap between the two teams as Price earned his 8th win of the season. Rays southpaw pitched 8 innings giving up 2 unearned runs on 9 hits. Tampa Bay wins a big series against AL East division rivals.

Athletics @ Red Sox 4 - 6
After giving up three runs in the first, Daisuke Matsuzaka recorded seven strikeouts and no walks in his 6 2/3-inning outing, while David Ortiz hit a go-ahead two-run homer to give Boston its fourth consecutive win. Suzuki and Kuzmanoff both homered. A's right-hander Sheets wasn't able to hold on an early 3 runs lead, allowing 4 earned runs in 6 innings.

Angels @ Royals 7 - 2
Torii Hunter led the offensive attack with three hits and three RBIs in support of starter Scott Kazmir, who worked 5 2/3 innings for the win. Angels win their second game of this 4 game series at Kaufmann Stadium. Royals pitcher Davies was shaky, allowing 6 earned runs on 8 hits in 4 innings. DeJesus provided the only offense for Kansas City going 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Rangers @ Whitesox 9 - 5
Floyd struggles continue as he gave up 6 earned runs walking 3 in 2 and 2/3. The Rangers pounded 12 hits, scoring five runs in the first two innings en route to a win over the White Sox. Matt Treanor had four RBIs. Paul Konerko hit two home runs, tying him for the Major League lead. Feldman earned his 3rd win of the season, pitching 8 innings.

Twins @ Mariners 1 - 2
Hours after the legendary Ken Griffey Jr. announced he was retiring, Mariners left-hander Cliff Lee allowed one run over eight innings and Seattle won it in the 10th inning on Ichiro Suzuki's walk-off infield single. Slowey matched Lee tossing 7 innings of one-run ball on 5 hits but Twins offense couldn't back him up. Cuddyer was responsable for the lone Minnesota run with his 7th homer of the season in the top of the 7th. Reliever Guerrier took the loss for the Twins.
