MLB Rockies ace shines in San Francisco

Last night National League result, written by Olivier:

Phillies @ Braves 3 - 9
Braves righty Tommy Hanson tossed 6 and 2/3 innings of one-run ball against a struggling Phillies offense that is averaging 1.5 runs/game in their last 10 games. Atlanta knocks Phila out of first place in the NL East as they won their 8thgame in the last 10. Chipper Jones and Troy Glaus both homered. Joe Blanton was
hit hard and his defense didn't help him out.

Brewers @ Marlins 5 - 13
Nate Robertson struggled early before settling down after the first 2 innings. Marlins hit Narveson hard in the bottom of the 6th putting 7 runs on the board in that frame. Cody Ross tied the game at 4 with a 3 run shot. Cameron Maybin hit an inside the parker and Florida goes back to a .500 record.

Cubs @ Pirates 1 - 2
Pirates bullpen prevailed in late innings giving Pittsburgh a 2-1 win. Randy Wells pitched 5 scoreless frame but Cubs bullpen wasn't able to hold the lead. Garret Jones homered in the sixth to tie the game at 1 and pinch-hitter Bobby Crosby singled in the go ahed run in the bottom of the eight. Ohlendorf tossed 7 innings of one-run ball.

Nationals @ Astros 14 - 4
Roy Oswalt was looking for his 11th consecutive quality start but he was hit hard in the third by Dunn's 3 run double and later in the same frame sent off by the home plate umpire after arguing a pitch called a ball. Washington clinched the win with a nine-run seventh. Maldonado and Zimmerman both hit 3 run homers helping Atilano earning his 5th win of the season.

Rockies @ Giants 4 - 0
The best pitching duel you might see right now. Two time gold glove winner Tim Lincecum vs. Rockies ace Ubaldo Jimenez who started the season 9-1 with an ERA under 1.00. Jimenez shut down San Francisco offense tossing a complete game shutout gem allowing only 4 hits and 2 walks in 9, improving his record to 10-1 with an amazing 0.78 ERA and running his scoreless-innings streak to 26. Lincecum was not so sharp and was touched with 4 runs (3 earned) in 5 and 2/3.

Reds @ Cardinals 4 - 12
Five Cardinals drove in two runs, as they continued their offensive outburst against the Reds. Jaime Garcia threw six innings of 2 run ball, fanning six, walking 3. The Cards' win left the clubs tied atop the NL Central. Arroyo allowed 7 earned runs in 4 and 1/3.

Diamondbacks @ Dodgers 4 - 5
Bizarre win for the Dodgers in the bottom of the ninth. Reliever Esmerling Vasquez balked in Casey Blake with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th to give LA the victory. Arizona also gave up 2 unearned runs in the bottom of the 8th on two errors on the same ground ball. Manny Ramirez hit his 4th homer of the season.

Mets @ Padres 6 - 18
Padres erupt with 18 runs on Memorial Day rout over the Mets. Jerry Hairston crushed a second-inning grand slam and the Padres never looked back, racking up a PETCO Park-record 18 runs in demolishing the Mets in the series opener. Mets japanese starter left the game after 4 innings allowing 6 runs on 8 hits. Barajas hit his 11th home run and his 30th RBI.
